Pinch! Named “Best New Innovation” by Boston’s college students
BOSTON, MA (September, 2015) –. CollegeFest, a one day lifestyle event that welcomes college students from across New England back to school, celebrated its 30th anniversary on September 12, 2015 at Fenway Park. The event encourages students to get out and explore Boston and meet new people, drawing approximately 10,000 college students to the park.
This year CollegeFest introduced College-Tech-Fest, a technology competition within CollegeFest where Boston’s students voted on the best new technology or app. General Assembly presented College-Tech-Fest, where up and coming companies put their best foot forward to the tech savvy student crowd.
Students voted and Pinch! emerged as the winner. Pinch! is an app used to crowd-source those nearby for help with anything – anytime, anywhere.

Being part of CollegeFest was an amazing experience, and it was awesome to share Pinch! with so many students who are now using the app to empower a new helping economy by connecting and helping each other. The runner up was Beam, a real time location sharing app that allows users to privately share their locations.
General Assembly was excited to support these emerging tech companies at College-Tech-Fest. It was a unique opportunity to connect with so many of the college students and startups who energize the city and our community at General Assembly!"
