Campus Agency Buys CollegeFest from MRY
The Campus Agency will assume ownership and management of the nearly 30-year-old Boston based college event.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 03, 2013
The Campus Agency, a leading college marketing firm that is the creator of College Day at Fenway Park and other high profile college marketing events, has acquired CollegeFest from MRY. CollegeFest is the most heavily attended back-to-school event in New England, attracting over 17,000 college students each year. CollegeFest is a Boston institution featuring live music, celebrity appearances and free swag from more than 100 local and national brands. This year’s event is scheduled for October 12th and 13th at The Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA.
Effective immediately, The Campus Agency will assume ownership and management of the nearly 30-year-old Boston based college event.
Campus Agency CEO, Paul Tedeschi, the former Co-founder of Mr. Youth (now MRY) managed CollegeFest and was instrumental in purchasing the event from its previous owner. MRY has owned the event since 2005.
“This transaction is reflective of our evolved focus as an agency of providing data-driven mobile and social solutions for our clients,” said MRY CEO, Matt Britton. “We hope CollegeFest will continue for another 30 years. MRY is looking forward to continued collaboration with CollegeFest for its clients targeting the youth demographic.”
The Campus Agency plans to extend the reach of CollegeFest to a number of schools outside of the Boston market, spring break and digital channels.
“I attended the very first CollegeFest back in 1985 as a college student at Boston University,” said Tedeschi. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to once again own CollegeFest and continue to grow its reach beyond Boston. We have big plans to leverage the CollegeFest brand beyond just the two-day Boston event.”
The Campus Agency recently relocated from Waltham to Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston.
