FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOSTON, MA (September, 2015) –. CollegeFest, a one day lifestyle event that welcomes college students from across Boston and New England back to school, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on September 12, 2015 at Fenway Park. The event encourages students to get out and explore their city and meet new people. This will be the second year the event has been held at Fenway Park and Army ROTC will proudly return as the presenting sponsor. The event will also be completely free to students, courtesy of SALT® a local nonprofit-backed educational program dedicated to giving students, alumni, and families the money knowledge they need for college and beyond. “SALT is excited to partner with Campus Agency again this year to offer students free admission to CollegeFest. This is a great event, in an iconic location. It attracts exactly the students we exist to help. And it lets us introduce ourselves to them in a fun and engaging way,” said SALT President John Zurick.
Taking place from11-6PM, with the entrance at Gate C, this free event will feature a wide range of brands, which will have special offers, games, prizes, giveaways, and more. Northeast staple L.L.Bean will get students ready for all seasons with games and giveaways of their most iconic products. Eddie Flaherty, the Senior Bootmobile Marketing Specialist at L.L.Bean notes, “Our rolling icon the Bootmobile will be inside Fenway Park for the first time at this event. CollegeFest gives us a great platform to introduce our brand to college students who are gearing up for the fall season.” Jeep will be showcasing the all-new 2015 Jeep® Renegade. The Boston Red Sox will be on hand offering Student 9’s, their student priced game tickets. Stop by the T-Mobile Hummer H2 and play games while you charge your phone, then head over to the stage where there will be live music and entertainment all day on the T-Mobile Stage.
We are also introducing College-Tech-Fest, a technology competition within CollegeFest where Boston’s students will vote on the best new technology or app. General Assembly will present the College-Tech-Fest where up and coming companies will put their best foot forward to this tech savvy crowd. One company will emerge as the “Best New Innovation” voted on by Boston’s influential college students.
“One of New England’s greatest assets is its world-class collection of colleges and universities,” said Sam Kennedy, the Red Sox’ Chief Operating Officer and Incoming President. “A rite of passage for college students is to touch Fenway Park, and it thrills us to welcome these students to their new home of baseball games, social gatherings, and extraordinary events. We hope that this beloved, iconic, and historic ballpark provides the wonderful lifelong memories that have been experienced by so many for generations.”
The event organizers, The Campus Agency or “Campus”, are excited to be celebrating 30 years of CollegeFest. “I went to the very first CollegeFest in 1985 when I was a student at Boston University, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate 30 years. CollegeFest is a long standing Boston tradition and we’re proud to be continuing it,” said Paul Tedeschi, of Campus. “
